Origin of Animal is a Chicago-based band started by brothers Steve and Dave Keller. I first met Dave at Roosevelt when I transferred there, and he invited me to jam with them, which turned out to be a great experience. The idea (what I get out of it) is that there is a rotating or ever-changing lineup that revolves around the Kellers on drums and cello. Most of the sets are highly improvisatory, which can range from total free music to groove-based rock. We also like to do strange and interesting covers of our favorite songs and we play around Chicago on a regular basis. Check out the Myspace page for music, videos, and upcoming shows.
